Taoyuan International Airport MRT (桃園國際機場捷運 )
Operated by the Taoyuan Metro, the 51km line passes through the cities of Taoyuan and New Taipei City, then into Taipei City, running between the city and the airport in as little as 35 minutes for express train services.
The standard headway interval between trains is 15 minutes, so travelers should not have to wait in excess of 15 minutes for either an Express or Commuter train. For trains leaving from Taipei or from the airport towards the city, a train should depart every 7 minutes. Express trains are colored purple, and Commuter trains are colored blue. Express trains provide more comfortable seating than commuter trains.
In-Town Check-in services are available at the B1 level of Taipei Main Station (A1) at any time during the same day, in general up to 3 hours before scheduled departure. Flights scheduled before 9AM are not eligible, as service hours are from 6AM to 9:30PM. Certain airlines, including EVA (BR) and China Airlines (CA), allow for passengers to collect a boarding pass and deposit checked luggage, after which passengers may travel to the airport and directly pass security. Airline ticket counters are not available, and kiosk-only check-in may be present for some airlines. Special items such as baby carriages and wheelchairs are not accepted and must be handled at the airport. For passengers traveling on an airline or traveling to a destination (such as Canada) which does not allow for in-town check-in services, luggage may be placed on the train and then deposited at the airport as per standard procedure. Please check with the airline for the most accurate information as to whether or not in-town check-in is permitted as this is dependent on the specific airline.
A transfer to the High Speed Rail is available at A18 THSR Taoyuan Station.
There is no fare difference between Express and Commuter train services.
Flight departure information is available on the screens located in the express train cars.
Tourist tax refund services up to limited amounts are available nearby the station platform areas.
All stations along the line are handicap-accessible, and offer power wheelchair charging stations as well as suitable restrooms. Wheelchairs may also be loaned to passengers during their transit.
Tourists who have checked out of their hotels at noon and have a later flight may choose to utilize in-town check-in services to relieve themselves of luggage for the rest of the day.
Travelers heading to Songshan Airport (TSA) should not board this train, and instead take the Taipei MRT Brown Line to station BR13.
