Traditional Chinese and Taiwanese Culture

Experience real Chinese culture, safeguarded by the Taiwanese.

With the relocation of the R.O.C. government in 1949, many antiquities and artifacts were brought over to Taiwan and stored in the Taipei National Palace Museum.

As Taiwan did not participate in Cultural Revolution (文化大革命), many traditional Chinese cultural elements such as temples and religious rituals have remained intact and have flourished in this open society. Visitors who are interested in experiencing un-diluted (i.e. not 'restored') Chinese culture will prefer visiting Taiwan over mainland China.

Besides pan-Chinese culture, Taiwan is home to many indigenous cultural elements, drawn from Hokkien Fujianese cultural practices.
