Pingtung - South Link Line, Taiwan Railways (台鐵 屏東-南迴線 )
Looping around the southern part of Taiwan, the Pingtung - South Link Line services stations between Pingtung and Taitung. Some sections of the line are single-track, and frequency is less than other sections of the main island-wide loop line.
West of Pingtung Station, the Pingtung - South Link Line connects to the Western Trunk Line South Section heading toward Kaohsiung. North of Taitung Station, the Pingtung - South Link Line connects to the Taitung Line heading along the East Rift Valley toward Hualien.
Trains operating along the Pingtung - South Link Line may connect to neighboring lines and terminate at stations beyond the scope of this line. Many trains operate between Taichung-Taitung, as well as Kaohsiung Xinzuoying-Taitung and Xinzuoying-Hualien.
Sections of the line are single-track, and provide views of the mountains of south Taiwan as well as ocean views in the southeast. Popular stations include Zhiben Station nearby hot springs and Duoliang Station, currently open as a tourist attraction and no longer provides train services. Visitors can travel to the nearby Jinlun Station and change to a bus service.
Passengers traveling between Taitung and Kaohsiung are recommended to utilize train services for convenience and safety.
