Songshan-Xindian Line (松山新店線 )

The Songshan-Xindian Line of the Taipei Metro is a high-capacity line extending from Songshan District in Taipei City toward Xindian at the southern edge of the metropolitan area.

Operating fully underground, the line runs west from Songshan Train Station towards Ximen, where it turns southward, forming a partial loop around the western part of Taipei City.

The northern part of the line passes through commercial and office districts, Raohe Night Market, and the Taipei Arena, while the southern part of the line passes tourist hot-spots Ximending, Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, Shi-Da Night Market area, Gongguan, and out towards the Bitan riverside area terminating at Xindian Station, where a convenient bus connection to Wulai is available.

A transfer to the Airport MRT is available at Beimen Station with a quick walk to Taipei Main Station (A1), and train service is available at Songshan Station.

A branch line services the Xiaobitan area, however is primarily for local residents and of limited interest to visitors.
